Submissions on the Moreton
Bay Marine Park draft are now closed.
Thank-you to everyone who sent in a submission or signed
a petition calling for 30-50% of marine habitats to be protected
in Moreton Bay Marine Park.
We had an overwhelming amount of support, with over 8000
people signing a submission or petition.
Where to from here
The campaign is not over. The decision on which parts of the
Bay will be given full protection in Marine National Park
Zones must be passed by the Queensland government by September
this year. They need to know the public want more protection
for the wildlife of Moreton Bay Marine Park.
You can show your support in the following ways:
1) Contact your local member
2) Write to the Editor
3) Sign an online letter of support for
30-50% protection (if you haven’t already done so)
Contact your local member:

to voice your concern for the lack of protection afforded
to Moreton Bay in the current draft zoning plan.

electorate you are in.

as well as news stories on the radio/TV about the rezoning

we urge you in the coming months to write a letter to The
Courier Mail, your local paper and call your local radio station
in support of 30% Green Zones for Moreton Bay Marine Park.
